A 5 Part Mixed Media Art Course

Techniques you will be learning -

Observing shapes and color

On our visit out into nature we will be looking at the plants in our surroundings and noting their size, shape, markings and color so that we can transfer these shapes into our art. We will break down the shapes into their simplest form.

Sketching

We will be identifying the shapes of the plants in the garden and breaking them down. We will then combine them with our favorite shapes and 'go to' marks.

Mark Making and Background page

Once we have identified the shapes and marks we want to use we begin to build the background and create layers. You are provided with the images and stamps that you can use in your work.

Developing the Background

You have a selection of background papers that you will be able to use to create the background. You can also use your supplies to alter and make the backgrounds your own.
